Pastor Elaine Hewes

Pastor Elaine became our spiritual leader in 1997. Her voice, whether preaching from the pulpit or singing with the choir, inspires us as we strive to become truly “a house of mercy, a place of grace”.

She and her husband Michael live in Blue Hill, Maine. They have three adult children: Emily, Sarah and William.

Pastor Elaine Hewes attended the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia and Bangor Theological Seminary, receiving her Divinity degree from the latter. She serves on the Board of the Maine Council of Churches, mentors students at Bangor Theological Seminary, and has been teaching Preaching there in 2009.
